everyone around me, all my friends, know where they’re going in life, what college they’re going to (or at least applying to), have jobs (or getting one), have cars (or at least their permits and licenses), and get good grades and are the epitome of a perfect person. on the outside at least. i know deep down its not all true, but its hard to make myself believe it. i feel so lost in this big world, and graduating high school is just the beginning of it. i don’t want to grow up. its not my time yet, i’m just a little kid. sometimes i want to run away screaming in the other direction and hide behind my mommy saying, ‘please protect me!’. but thats not how life works. its so unfair.
